About Mary 〰️
Mary Spencer is an actor, musician, comedian, artist based in Chicago. Mary grew up in SW Missouri where her love of music and theatre began. Since graduating with a BFA from the University of Kansas, Mary has been a performer and musician in a variety of professional productions.
Before moving to Chicago, Mary has performed as an improv based actor, a character performer, parade dancer, and show captain at Cedar Point and King’s Island.
Since moving to Chicago, she has become an ensemble member of the Conspirators; a performing company that performs in “the style” which combines Commedia dell'arte, mask work, clowning, political satire, and the energy of Bugs Bunny. She was recently seen in The Conspirators’ 125th Anniversary Jubilee, Feat. “The Ineptidemic” where she performed in a variety of scenes, music directed, and played Dr. Triceps in the premiere of “The Ineptidemic” by Octave Mirbeau.
She also played the reed book in the pit orchestra for MadKap’s production for Avenue Q.

Mary is playing Oleg/Beggar Musician in The Artistic Home’s production of “Dying for It” by Moira Buffini. It will be at the Den Theatre from March 18-April 23.

Mary is a vocal, instrumental, and acting educator and currently establishing her studio. She has experience teaching vocal lessons including classical voice, musical theatre, and pop/rock. She also teaches saxophone, piano, electric and acoustic guitar, and bass guitar.
She is currently located in Chicago, IL but has experience and is open to lessons or coaching sessions over zoom!
